Sara Glithro - Principal Chiropractor

Sara Glithro: Principal Chiropractor

Sara Glithro graduated from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic with a first class Masters in Chiropractic degree (MChiro) and is registered with the General Chiropractic Council. She is fully insured and a member of the Royal College of Chiropractors, the British Pain Society and the International Association for the Study of Pain.

With a particular interest in pain and neuroscience she is committed to improving her knowledge and skills as a clinician. Sara completes many hours of advanced training each year and as a result, she offers a number of gentle chiropractic techniques, numerous approaches to mobilising soft tissues, healthcare-, exercise- and rehabilitation advice throughout treatment which is tailored to the specific needs of each patient.

Sara was recently awarded a full-time 3 year PhD scholarship from Bournemouth University, the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic and the McTimoney College of Chiropractic. She is currently undertaking her PhD research to investigate altered sensory perception (touch and differentiation between left and right) and motor function (movement) in adults with chronic low back pain. For more information about her research click here.

Sara helps her patients to understand their condition, guiding them to work within their capabilities to achieve their goals more quickly.  Often working with patients who have developed new or acute conditions, she also welcomes the challenge of working with those who have longer term or chronic conditions. Sara's aim is to help her patients restore their health and physical function to a level which is normal for them and to help them maintain a good quality of life.

Sara discovered chiropractic after injuring her own back in an accident. Her intensive treatment programme included physiotherapy, exercise, hydrotherapy, massage and prescribed medications. However, she felt the greatest improvement following a course of McTimoney Chiropractic. The difference chiropractic made to her life triggered a career change and five years training to become a registered chiropractor.

"it is always relaxing and enjoyable and I leave feeling like I have a spring in my step"

'as the years rack up keeping everything in good working order becomes more important (and more challenging). Regular sessions with Sara every couple of months keep on top of any minor niggles so I can enjoy an active lifestyle' Spending time with Sara is always worthwhile, as apart from the physical check-up and tweaks to keep everything in working order, it is always relaxing and enjoyable and I leave feeling like I have a spring in my step - (as she is a great listener)!

Investing in my health and wellbeing is important to me – especially since I turned 55. I want to continue a busy and active lifestyle, so regular sessions every couple of months help to keep any minor niggles at bay and prevent them becoming major problems.

Even when I don't feel like there is anything 'wrong' , I always feel better (often taller) after a session with Sara. - Ms R, Charminster

Having suffered with back problems for many years and having many different treatments, it was refreshing to finally find Sara. Sara is great; she gets a detailed medical history, finds out what you want to get out of your visit and talks you through what she is going to do. She puts you at ease the moment you met her and the whole experience is made easy by the professional yet personal way she goes about it. The McTimoney style is really important to me as it is gentler than the standard method yet truly effective, I suffer with fibromyalgia and arthritis and have found this to make a real difference to my pain management and general well-being. Thank you for providing an excellent service. - Miss B, Poole

"provides a really professional, but personal service"

Sara offers an excellent chiro experience. She puts you at ease and gives you confidence in her ability and provides a really professional, but personal service. I cannot express what a good feeling it is to no longer have the pain that was affecting my life. - Mrs S, Wallisdown

"what could have taken months to heal only took weeks"

Sara was excellent and quickly identified exactly what I had done to myself (shoulder injury). She then treated it and gave me clear instructions on how to help it heal; as a result what could have taken months to heal only took weeks. She also has a very good understanding of different body types, which as someone who is hyper-mobile I really appreciate. I cannot recommend her enough. - Mr C, Winton
